Description

This is a pair of houses located on the north-west side of St John’s Wood Road in Westminster, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with stucco dressings. They are two storeys high with a basement, and have four bays, including recessed entrance bays to each side. Steps lead to porches with attached columns and round-arched entrances. The porch to No. 37 has a panelled door and fanlight. Segment-arched recesses above the entrances feature sash windows with glazing bars to No. 37, and a 20th-century casement to No. 35. An iron balcony is present. The first floor has a sill band. Casement windows are set within the original openings, each with a flat gauged brick arch. The building is finished with a cornice and a shallow central pediment.
