Description
No. 35 Marshall Street is a terrace house with a shop, built around 1820. It features stock brick construction and a slate roof, rising four storeys and measuring two windows wide. The ground floor retains a complete shop front, which includes square-headed doorways for both the house and the shop on the right. The house door is panelled, while the shop door is half-glazed. Both doors and the fanlights above them have small panes and marginal glazing. The shop window is also made up of small pane glazing, all framed by wooden pilasters that support an entablature. The upper floors are fitted with recessed glazing bar sashes set beneath flat gauged arches. The building has a parapet with coping and is part of the redevelopment of Carnaby and Newburgh Street from around 1820.
