Description
Frankfort House is a building dating from around 1800, located at No. 82 Clapham Common, on the west side. It is one of a pair of houses with advanced end bays and is three bays wide, featuring an offset closed porch. The house has two storeys, a basement, and a later attic, constructed of stock brick. The main porch is finished in stucco and includes a frieze and cornice. A flight of stone steps leads up between abutments to a moulded round-arched door architrave, framed in the Ionic order with an entablature that has a dentil cornice and blocking course. The chimney stacks have square pots. The garden elevation features a bow with tripartite windows on each floor. Inside, there are some contemporary features. Additionally, there is a pedimented brick coach house on the north boundary, which is connected to the main house.
