Description

23 Oakhill Road is a two-storey house with an attic, built in 1879 by William Young as his own residence. It features a plaque displaying the date and his initials. The building is constructed of yellow stocks with red brick dressings, and it has gauged red rubbers for the door and window arches. The roofs are tiled and adorned with cresting tiles. The main entrance is set within a recessed concentric arched surround, and above it is a cambered-arch window with four lights supported by wooden mullions.

To the right, there is an octagonal tower with flat arches on each facet on both floors, topped by a tiled spire with a vane. The tower also includes a nailhead string, a cogged cillband, and a cornice. The attic is pargetted and features a coved cornice at the half-hipped gable, which is decorated with incised sun and sunflower motifs. The chimney stacks are finished with cogged cornices.
