Description
St George's Gardens War Memorial is a war memorial featuring a slender, tapered white stone shaft adorned with bas relief carvings of a sword and leaves, set upon a stepped plinth. The lantern tower of St George in the East is a notable landmark in this area of Stepney. The church, along with its associated rectory, walls, gates, railing, and memorial, collectively form a group around St George's Gardens, which was once the churchyard.
