Description

This is a late 18th and early 19th century terrace of cottages located on the south side of Arbour Square. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and feature a parapet, with the roof not visible. A stucco band runs along the first floor sill height. The terrace is three storeys high with basements, and each building has two windows. The top-floor windows are set within gauged flat arches, the first-floor windows are in large, shallow arched recesses, and the ground-floor windows have round heads. All windows have glazing bars and painted reveals. Each cottage has a round-headed doorway with a plain fanlight. Numbers 50 and 60 have side doors. Numbers 51 to 56 have fluted stucco architraves and impost caps with simple half-round pilasters below the doorways. Number 57 features fluted pilasters within a coved surround, while numbers 58 and 59 have plain stucco coved surrounds around the doorways. The listed buildings of Arbour Square are considered a group value with numbers 3 to 10 (inclusive) on East Arbour Street.
