Description
This is an early 19th century terrace of five houses on the south side of Hackney Road. The building is constructed of stock brick, with No. 446 having a slate mansard roof; the roofs of the other properties are not visible. The terrace has coped parapets and decorative panels below. The houses are two storeys high with basements, and each has three windows. Most of the windows are sash windows, largely unbarred. Doors and small side windows are set within round-headed arches constructed of double brick. The doors of No. 450 have glazing bars in a Gothic style. All the doors are fitted with fanlights featuring tracery and pilasters. The interiors feature panelled doors. Numbers 444 to 450 form a cohesive group.
