Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of six properties, numbered 245 to 251, on the north side of Hackney Road, London. Each property is three storeys high with an attic and a basement, and has two windows. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet and a first-floor band. They have slated mansard roofs with flat dormers. The windows are sash windows with gauged flat brick arches, although the original window bars have been lost. Some of the windows have long casements and cast iron balconies on the first floor. The properties have four-panel doors with fanlights, one of which is patterned, recessed within round arches. Original cast iron area railings are present. A projecting shop front, in front of the ground floor of number 245, has wrought iron railings around its windows.
