Description
This is an 1811 terrace of eleven buildings, numbers 5 to 10, situated on Wapping Pier Head, south of Wapping High Street. The terrace is opposite a symmetrical block comprising numbers 1 to 4. The buildings are constructed from yellow stock brick with a stone cornice and brick parapet. A stone band runs above the ground floor, and a stone plinth supports segmental arched basement windows. The three-storey terrace has eleven windows, including three in a rounded end bay (one of which is blank). A further three windows are present on the southern return, while the northern return features four windows and a single window on a rounded corner. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars. Ground floor windows are round-arched, recessed, and set within wider brick arches. Recessed first and second floor windows have gauged flat arches. Number 5 features a Doric porch. The iron railings, paved roadway, and associated features of Wapping Pier Head are designated as a group value asset alongside numbers 1 to 15 (inclusive), number 4½, the Town of Ramsgate Public House, Oliver’s Wharf, a section of wall and entrance to London Docks, four bollards, and Wapping Old Stairs.
