Description

This is a mid-to-late 19th-century warehouse, formerly known as Nos 13 and 14 (Wool Warehouse). It is located on the south side of Ellen Street, at No. 75. The building is constructed of stock brick with blue brick detailing. A parapet runs along the top, featuring a central panelled tower above the centre of the Ellen Street facade. The facades to Forbes Street and Back Church Lane are also part of the building's design.

The Ellen Street facade has 4 storeys and includes blank panels, arranged over 8 bays, with two door ranks. Windows are set within round arched, full-height recesses and have segmental heads and glazing bars. The Back Church Lane facade extends for 20 bays, mirroring the Ellen Street facade with a central tower. A large doorcase constructed of brown marble and featuring plain side pilasters and a scroll pediment provides entry. Eight panelled doors are present.

The Wool House is part of a group of buildings including New Loom House and Chandlery House, located on Back Church Lane.
