Description
St Katherine's Dock (Warehouse C) is a warehouse built around 1827-28 by Thomas Telford. It is constructed of yellow stock brick and features a parapet. The building has full-height arches for all window ranks, with the western part recessed and rising to five storeys, comprising six bays that include a door rank. The segmental arched windows have white stone sills, although some original spaces have been partly infilled with brick and now contain smaller windows. The eastern portion of the warehouse is advanced and rises to six storeys, also with six bays and similar windows, some of which are partly bricked in around smaller windows. Warehouses B, C, G, and I are part of a group that includes the Dockmaster's Office, the house next to No 6 gate, as well as the boundary walls, gate piers, and footbridge in St Katharine's Dock.
