Description

Nos 19 to 31 on Barnes Street, built in the early 19th century, are two-storey buildings made of stock brick with a coped parapet and a basement. The roof is not visible. They feature a painted stucco plinth and a stucco band at the first-floor sill height. Each building has two windows, all of which are sash windows with gauged flat arches, and most still retain their glazing bars. The round-headed doorways are set in recessed arches and are adorned with fanlights and fluted pilasters. These properties, along with Nos 17 to 31, form a group with Nos 3 to 8 on Flamborough Street and Nos 1 to 16 on York Square, all of which surround York Square.
