Description

Fairfield Match Works, Building No. 2, is a red brick building dating from 1867. It has a slate roof with decorative banding and an irregular shape. The building is two storeys high with a gable end. A ground floor bay features a parapet. A round-headed doorway and window, featuring glazing bars and a fanlight, are located on the west side. A datestone is set within the tympanum above the central two-light window. The buildings and walls of the listed section of Fairfield Match Works form a group of importance in the social and economic history of Bow.
