Description
The Burgess Park War Memorial features a bronze statue of Christ, depicted in a long flowing robe with his head bowed, holding a crown of thorns in his hands. The statue is signed by the artist, Arild Rosenkrantz, and is dated 1919, with the signature located beneath Christ's right heel. The statue is mounted on a plinth made of limestone and granite, which is part of the outer boundary wall of the church. The front face of the plinth has an inscription that reads: "TO THE / MEMORY / OF THOSE / WHO / SERVED / 1914 - 1918."
