Description
73, 75, and 77 Southampton Way are three houses that form part of a terrace built in the early 19th century, with some alterations. The buildings are constructed of yellow brick and feature a stucco cornice and blocking course. The ground floor and basement are also stucco, while the first floor of Nos. 75 and 77 is stuccoed. The houses are three storeys high with a basement and have two bays each. The ground floor has banded rustication, which creates voussoirs for the round-arched openings. There are steps leading up to replaced doors, with No. 75 having a square-headed door. The door for No. 77 has been replaced by a window, and an entrance has been made in the basement. The first-floor windows are long casements with horizontal glazing bars and have paterae at the angles of reeded frames, although the ones for Nos. 75 and 77 appear to be new. A continuous balcony supported by iron brackets rests above, with a replaced straight canopy above it. The second-floor square-headed windows have concrete lintels, while the ground and second-floor windows are sashes, except for No. 73, where they have been altered. The interior has not been inspected.
