Description
The North Range of the almshouses, built in the early 19th century, is located in Southwark. Constructed of brick in Flemish bond, it features brick stacks on the party walls and the east-facing return. This range forms the north side of a U-shaped group of almshouses.
The exterior is two storeys high and consists of an eight-window range. All windows are made of gauged brick, with pointed-arch openings and Gothick glazing bars. The westernmost unit has two windows, while the other units have three windows each. Most windows are three-light, except for those in the entrance ranges, which are two-light. There is a plaque beneath the sill of the first-floor window in the fourth window range.
The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of a cohesive group and is bilaterally symmetrical with the South Range.
