Description

These five lamp posts are located outside and opposite the Anchor Public House on Park Street, Southwark. Four of the posts are shaped like guns, but are modern reproductions, each inscribed with “Clink 1812”. One post is situated on the south-east corner of the Anchor Public House, facing Park Street. Another two posts are located on the north-east corner of the building, positioned either side of the main entrance which is at the corner with Park Street. A further post stands opposite these, on the river side of the street, outside a former gentleman's lavatory. A later, 19th-century-style lamp post is also situated nearby.
