Description
The entrance gate piers, gates, and railings to Nunhead Cemetery were built around 1840 by James Bunning. This grand entrance features a curved design with 20 square-plan piers made of Portland stone, with the four central piers adorned with cast-iron torches and wreaths. In the center, there is a double cast-iron gate, flanked by single gates on either side. Low brick walls between the other piers are topped with cast-iron railings, and the end piers are decorated similarly to the central ones.
