Description

This is an early 19th-century villa, located on Blenheim Grove in Southwark. The building is constructed of stock brick with stucco dressings, and has a hipped slate roof. It is two storeys high with a basement, and has a three-window front. The upper floor has six-pane sashes under flat arches. Below, flat-arched windows with eight-pane sashes flank the central entrance, which is accessed via steps leading to a recessed porch framed by a Tuscan aedicule. Broad eaves are present. The rear of the villa retains original windows; the first floor has three six-pane sashes and a mezzanine, while the ground floor has two six-pane sashes. All windows have authentic glazing. The side returns have stacks, which have been partly rebuilt. The interior retains many original features of authentic design.
