Description

This is a Baptist church hall, dating to 1887 and designed by George Baines, with F and HF Higgs acting as builders. It is constructed of brick in English bond, with stone dressings, and has a slate roof. The building is in the Gothic Revival style, rectangular in plan, and includes a narthex facing the road. The west front features a gable with a quatrefoil window, two double trefoil windows, and setback buttresses with stone finials. The narthex has a central arched entrance flanked by buttresses. The interior was not inspected during the listing process. The hall contributes to the group value when considered alongside the later Honor Oak Baptist Church on Forest Hill Road.
