Description
This is a monument to Charles Waters located in Camberwell Old Cemetery, built around 1910. It features a marble sculpture of a seated woman holding a book or Bible in her lap, embracing a small child, set on a battered plinth. Charles Waters, who lived from 1839 to 1910, was the founder of the International Bible Reading Association, which had over 1 million members at the time of his death.
