Description

Heathfield House is a mid-to-late 18th-century house with a facade dating from the early 19th century. It is a three-storey, three-window centre block accompanied by two-storey, one-window side wings that slightly project and have their ground floors bowed outwards. Balustraded balconies are above the bows and are linked by a central balcony supported by a distyle in antis portico with square columns. The building is stuccoed and features a cornice and blocking course, along with a moulded architrave in the centre. The sash windows, some with replaced glazing bars, have plain reveals. Console brackets support the cornices above the first-floor windows, and above the ground-floor windows in the bowed bays, which are three-light windows with curved tops. A modern, glazed double door is set within a moulded architrave. Nos 1 to 8A (consec), The Wedge and Forecourt Walls form a group nearby.
