Description
Ashberry Cottage dates from the second quarter of the 19th century. It is a two-storey and basement building with three windows, constructed of greyish stock brick. The ground floor and basement are rendered with rusticated stucco. The roof is low-pitched with a double span and slate covering, featuring eaves soffits. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars; those on the first floor have wood architraves. A chimney stack is located on the left side. The ground floor and basement windows are arranged within two round bays, with the sashes curved to match. Eleven rebuilt steps lead to a curved terrace before the six-panel door, which has a patterned fanlight. The door is framed with a moulded architrave featuring imposts above panelled quasi-pilasters. Ashberry Cottage forms a group with number 64.
