Description

The forecourt railings, walls, and piers to the Horniman Museum were constructed around 1902. They feature six square stone piers that are battered and have an entasis, plinth, and cornice. There are two gateways, and between and beyond the piers, low stone walls support tall wrought iron railings topped with small ball finials. The design includes matching gates and three wrought iron lampholders attached to the railings.
