Description
The stable block, outbuildings, and garden walls at Beckenham Place date from the late 18th century and have undergone some alterations. The main stable block is two storeys high and consists of 13 bays, constructed from yellow stock brick with moderately low-pitched slated roofs. The first floor features flat gauged brick window arches, while the ground floor has round arches set in round-arched recesses. There are some original sash windows, some blank spaces, and some modern casements. The central three bays are set back and feature a wide wooden arch, with a weather-boarded ground floor that includes stable doors. The garden front displays irregular fenestration.
To the northeast, there is a one-storey range with an attic and a projecting gabled centerpiece, comprising 11 bays and flat gauged brick window arches. This range connects to the main block and the outer wall. The south range consists of one-storey lean-to buildings against an old brick wall, along with a three-bay weatherboarded building that was formerly a horse hospital. A late 18th-century red brick garden wall with a round-arched entrance leads northeast to a two-storey, three-window yellow brick cottage. The southern front of the cottage is stuccoed, featuring a low-pitched hipped slate roof and a porch with a segmental hood. The sash windows have plain reveals and glazing bars.
