Description

St John the Baptist's Church Hall is a building originally constructed in 1824 as a Chapel of Ease to St Mary's Lewisham, funded by J Foster. It was later retained as a hall when a new church was built.

The hall is a single-storey structure with a stuccoed exterior. It features a three-bay front that is topped with a cornice and a pediment, which includes a clock in the tympanum. The front has blocked round-headed windows set within round-arched recesses. Above the prostyle Doric porch, there is a recessed panel in the center. The entrance consists of a six-panel double door framed by a moulded architrave. The roof is slated and hipped at the rear. On the sides, there are three round-headed windows in round-arched recesses. A domed bell cupola sits on the roof ridge above the pediment.
