Description
Mount Pisgah Chapel is a stuccoed building with a stone plinth, dating from 1822. The front elevation features three windows and has pavilion porches on each side, each with a separate low-pitched slate roof and boarded eaves. The façade is defined by pilasters that mark each bay, with broader corner pilasters that have recessed panels. The central window is round-headed, while the other two are segmental-headed, with later glazing that includes margin panes in coloured glass. A small central datestone displays the inscription 'Mount Pisgah Chapel 1822'. The central gabled porch has a round arch and panelled double doors.
On either side of the chapel, slightly set back, are small single-storey blocks designed like pavilions. These blocks are advanced towards the centre and feature open pediments with broad round-arched recesses that contain similarly arched doorways, both equipped with fanlights and panelled doors. The side elevations each have two wide casement windows with marginal glazing.
Inside, the chapel is open to the left pavilion through an arcade of two small arches and to the right pavilion via a doorway. The central doorway leads to a timber screened vestibule with a tiled floor, and side doors that access the main interior. The original chapel floor has been replaced, and the current pews are all from the late 19th century. At the front, there is a dais with a 19th-century gothic organ case, a table, and a corner pulpit in the Anglican style.
