Description
Old Cedars is a house primarily built in 1865, with the original west wing dating back to around 1800. The front of this part of the house is three storeys high with a basement and features four windows. It is constructed of yellow stock brick and has a stone cornice with a mutule design and a blocking course. There are stone bands at the cills of the first and second floors. The ground floor has an arcaded design with keystones, which were likely added later. A decorative foliated impost band was introduced when the large eastern extension was constructed in 1865. The later building includes a large ornamental cast iron porch. The rear elevation of the house shows the western part with two full-length round bows, each containing three sash windows on each floor, except for the right side of the ground floor, which has a French door. There is also a central French door between the bows and a single sash window above. Victorian additions can be seen on the right side.
