Description
This is a late 19th-century house located on Westwood Hill. It is two storeys high with an attic and basement, and has three windows. The house is constructed of yellow stock brick with stone dressings, and has a moderately pitched slated roof with a gable over the projecting right bay. The windows have varying numbers of lights, chamfered tops, and stone lintels. A porch with cresting sits at the front. A London County Council blue plaque commemorates that the Antarctic explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton, lived here between 1874 and 1922, and the building is listed primarily because of this association.
