Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of 23 cottages, numbered 1 to 23, on the south side of Roupell Street in London. The buildings are two storeys high with two windows each. They are constructed of stock brick with gable-shaped parapets in stone. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set within arches made of flat brick with gauged edges. Each cottage has a six-panel door, topped with a cornice and a simple fanlight, set within a round-arched brick surround. Interior features include original staircases, dado rails, and an arch supported by moulded consoles over the hall. Number 1 has had a storey added in a matching style. Numbers 19 and 20 also have an added storey, featuring a stuccoed cornice and pediment dated 1891.
