Description

Courtenay Square numbers 1 to 15 form a row of two-storey cottages constructed between 1913 and 1914. The design is by Adshead and Ramsey. The cottages are built of yellow stock brick, with a key-patterned stucco band running across the first-floor window sills. A dentil cornice and a raised blocking course are present at the centre and ends of the building. The cottages at each end of the row project slightly forward. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath gauged brick arches which are round on the ground floor and feature interlaced bars in the head above. Each cottage has a wooden door comprising two large panels and a lozenge-glazed window at the top, set within a wooden trellis porch with a swept lead hood. Low wrought iron railings are present at the front of the properties.
