Description
54 and 55 Walnut Tree Walk is an early to mid-19th century pair of houses, each with three storeys and a high basement, featuring two windows. They are constructed of stock brick and have a parapet with large proportions. The basement and ground floor are stuccoed, with banded rustications that create voussoirs for the round-arched doorways. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged flat brick arches. There are five steps leading up to the four-panel doors, which are set in deep reveals and flanked by engaged fluted Doric columns, topped with a cornice head and a segmental fanlight. The long first-floor windows have ornamental cast iron balconies on projecting cills, and there are cast iron area railings with palmette standards.
