Description
Nos 48 and 50 Acre Lane is an early 19th-century pair of houses with extensions. The original buildings are three storeys high with a basement and feature two windows in the main block. Each house has a two-storey entrance extension that is slightly set back and has one window. The houses are constructed of stock brick and have a stucco entablature and blocking course. The sash windows, which mostly have been replaced, are topped with gauged flat brick arches. The ground floor is arcaded and includes a stone impost band. Each house has a four-panelled door set within a moulded architrave and is sheltered by Ionic porches in antis. There are later two-storey extensions at either end that match the original style, and the entrance bay of No 50 has been raised to three storeys.
