Description

A terrace of six houses, numbered 13 to 19, located on Cromwell Road, constructed between 1857 and 1859. The houses were designed by C.J. Freake, who also acted as builder. They are four storeys high, with attics and a basement, built of stucco. Each house has a façade of three windows. The ground floor features Doric-style porches, the first floor has an Ionic order, the second floor uses Corinthian details, all topped with pediments. A frieze featuring swags is present between the columns. Balustrades are found on the first and second-floor balconies, and on the parapet of number 17. The cornice is dentilated and modillioned. The end houses are slightly projected forward and feature rusticated quoins and iron area railings.
