Description
This is a terrace of houses built in 1857, designed by the architect Johnson for Mr. Freake. The buildings are made of stucco and consist of four storeys, including an attic and a basement, with each house being five windows wide. The first floor features a balustraded balcony, and the windows on this level have pedimented heads. Each house has a Doric portico, and there is a cornice with a moulded frieze above the third floor. Notably, number 21, located on Cromwell Place, has a large two-storey wing that includes a ballroom. The properties are also adorned with cast iron area railings.
