Description

The Tomb of Wyndham Lewis, located in Kensal Green Cemetery, is a monument dedicated to Wyndham Lewis, who died in 1838. It is constructed from Portland stone and features a pyramid-obelisk design set on a raised base. Each face of the tomb has projecting panels adorned with reliefs of armorial designs or lotus flowers. To the west, there is a sandstone slab covering the vault. Wyndham Lewis was a Tory Member of Parliament, and his widow later married Benjamin Disraeli. For further reference, see A.H. Hakewill's "Modern Tombs, Gleaned from the Public Cemeteries of London" published in 1851, plate 4.
