Description
The Reformers' Memorial is a memorial erected in 1885, located in Kensal Green Cemetery. It features a grey granite obelisk set on a sandstone base and is signed by the masons J.S. Farley. The memorial was established by Joseph Corfield to honor men and women who dedicated their time and resources to improving the conditions and happiness of all classes of society. The north and east sides of the obelisk list the names of various reformers and radicals, with additional names added in 1907 by Emma Corfield. This memorial serves as a counterpart to the Robert Owen memorial and represents a second example of a non-funerary memorial in the cemetery's Non-Conformist section. As of the last survey in 1998, the memorial was in good condition and had been restored in 1997.
