Description
The monument to Joseph Allmond Cropper, located in Kensal Green Cemetery, is a Grade II listed structure made of Portland stone and features pink Peterhead granite shafts. It commemorates Joseph Allmond Cropper, who died around 1870. The lower part of the monument is a tall square pedestal that is blind, with cusped arched openings on each side beneath a corbel table. The east and west sides display relief sculptures depicting acts of mercy, inscribed with the phrases 'I was sick and ye visited me' and 'A stranger and ye took me in' from Matthew 25:35-36. The granite shafts are positioned at the corners. The upper section features a statue of Christ the Good Shepherd, which is set within a tall pyramidal canopy supported by four pink granite colonettes, each face of the canopy has a trefoil-headed opening.
