Description

This is a late 19th-century stuccoed terrace of five houses, numbered 53 to 56, located on Stanhope Gardens in London. The terrace is five stories high with a basement and each house has three windows. The design includes prominent Doric porches that project forward, and a first-floor balcony with balustrades that similarly breaks forward above the porches. Segmental pediments are featured above the centre windows of the first floor, while triangular pediments adorn the centre windows of the second floor. A main cornice runs above the third floor, supported by consoles. Cast iron area railings are present. The houses are part of the original Stanhope Gardens layout.
