Description
The Mausoleum of Colonel William Meyrick, located in Brompton Cemetery, is a large Neo-classical structure made of Portland stone. It has a rectangular shape with fielded panels on the sides and rear, and features pedimented ends. The mausoleum is topped with a ridged stone roof adorned with large honeysuckle acroteria. The entrance is marked by a heavy cast iron door, stained to resemble bronze, which has four panels with openwork and relief ornament. In front of the pediment, there is a bronze armorial plaque. The mausoleum is enclosed by iron railings designed in a Classical style.
