Description

Peter Jones Store is a Grade II* listed building located at Sloane Square, constructed between 1936 and 1939 by architects W Crabtree, Slater Moberly, and C H Reilly. This seven-storey store occupies a corner site and features a distinctive curved corner. The ground floor has a plate glass façade beneath a cantilevered canopy. The first to fourth storeys are characterized by narrowly spaced mullions filled with glass and white panelling. The fifth storey is recessed and includes a cantilevered canopy with narrow glazing. Above, there is a bronze balustrade and tubular metal railings on the sixth floor, along with bronze trim on the ground floor canopy. The words "Peter Jones" are displayed in a sans serif font on the white panels. The building is also noted for its relationship with nearby Cadogan Gardens.
