Description

This is a mid-18th century terrace of houses located on Lawrence Street. It comprises numbers 13 and 16, along with others forming a cohesive group and relating to number 2 Justic Walk. The terrace is two storeys high with dormer windows, and is two windows wide. The buildings are constructed of brown brick with red gauged flat arches over the recessed windows. The doorcases are made of wood and feature moulded heads. The mansards are tiled, with number 15 having a slate covering. Number 16 features a tablet commemorating the manufacture of Chelsea porcelain in the street between 1745 and 1784, and references the residence of the novelist Tobias Smollett from 1750 to 1762.
