Description

This is a late 18th and early 19th century terrace of houses at 9-16 York Square, London. The houses are constructed of stock brick with a coped parapet and mansard slate roofs, featuring large chimneys. Portions of numbers 9, 10, and 16 have been rebuilt. A stucco band is located at the sill height of the first floor. The terrace is two storeys high with dormers and basements, and each house has two windows. The dormers have cambered heads, sashes, and casements. Ground floor and first floor windows have gauged brick arches, sashes, and glazing bars. Doorways are round-headed with fanlights and fluted pilasters.

Numbers 9 to 16 form a group with numbers 3 to 8 on Flamborough Street and numbers 17 to 31 (odd) on Barnes Street, which together surround York Square.
