Description
No. 52 St John's Square is a terraced house, now used as offices, built between 1806 and 1807. It features yellow brick set in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The building stands four storeys high, with a two-window range on the right side and a one-window range on the left.
The ground floor has a wooden frontage with two entrances on either side of a cantilevered bay window that has curved corners. The entrances are adorned with cornices, overlights featuring decorative glazing, and original panelled doors at the outer entrances. These are flanked by pilasters that support a fascia and dentil cornice, which projects around the bay.
The left-hand side of the house has single tripartite windows on both floors, topped with segmental arches. The right-hand side features flat-arched windows with gauged brick heads and original 8/8 sash windows on both floors. The building has a parapet, round-arched dormers, and a mansard roof with stacks located on the party wall.
