Description

Numbers 25-32 are a row of terraced houses built in 1821, developed by Richard Laycock. They are constructed of yellow brick in Flemish bond with stucco, and their roofs are hidden by a parapet. The houses rise four storeys above a basement and each has two windows. The basements of numbers 25 and 30-32 are stuccoed, while the ground floors of numbers 25 and 29-32 feature stucco with channelled rustication.

Each house has a round-arched entrance flanked by panelled pilasters that support a cornice with a fanlight above. Number 30 is missing glazing bars, but the panelled doors retain their original design. Number 32 has a side entrance with a cable-pattern architrave. The ground-floor windows are round-arched with gauged brick heads; the sashes of numbers 26 and 28 have intersecting glazing bars and margin lights, while number 32 has only glazing bars. All windows are set within recessed round-arched panels.

There is a stucco band between the floors, and the upper windows are flat-arched with gauged brick heads, featuring 6/6 sashes on the first and second floors. The first-floor windows are also set within recessed round-arched panels with gauged brick heads, linked by a stucco springing band. A blank stucco plaque is located between numbers 28 and 29. The area is enclosed by cast-iron railings.
