Description

The gas lamp outside number 1 Canonbury Place is a gas lamp standard, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and wrought iron. The lamp features a cylindrical base that is inscribed, though not clearly, with 'J W & S'. The shaft is fluted and has a bud-like motif at the lower part. Additionally, there are wrought-iron brackets supporting a Windsor lamp with gas fittings.
