Description
This structure consists of a lamp standard, railing, pier, and gatehouse with an attached gate, all dating from around 1916. They were designed by C H Heathcote and Sons of Manchester for Ford Motor Company (England) Limited. The lamp standard is made of cast iron and features an open work box design with a facetted lantern topped by a dormered tent. There is a length of cast iron railing with a Green key type pattern attached to it. The brick pillar showcases herringbone brickwork in its panel. The rectangular brick gatehouse has plain painted cement bands at the ground floor, cill, and lintel levels, along with a projecting cornice and blocking course. The gatehouse also includes an attached cast iron gate.
