Description
The Hamburg Lutheran Church, built between 1875 and 1876, was designed by E Habershon and E P L Brock for the Lutheran community. It is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings and has a steeply pitched tiled roof extending to the eaves. The church features a cruciform plan, is aisleless, and includes a tower topped with a broach spire. The design follows a geometrical Gothic Revival style. The west door is set within a pointed arch, topped with a gable; above this is a rose window featuring cusped oculi and openwork arcading to the gable, all in stone and flanked by stone pinnacles. Pointed arched windows with two lights and bar tracery are located to the north and south. The tower has paired pointed arched openings at the bell stage, with oculi and gables above pinnacles to the broaches. The interior was not inspected at the time of listing.
