Description
Nos 162 and 164 on Dalston Lane are a pair of 18th-century buildings. Each building has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with three windows across the front. The buildings feature a gambrel roof; No 162 has a tiled roof while No 164 is slated, and both have a wide dormer. No 162 is constructed of stock brick with a parapet front and a stucco ground floor, all dating from the mid to late 19th century, including the sash windows. It has a modern door with a rectangular fanlight. In contrast, No 164 is made of original red brick and includes a cornice band and a stone-coped parapet. The sash windows on the second floor have gauged brick arches with vertical bars. The ground floor features plain sashes, while the first floor has early to mid-19th-century long casements that open onto a long iron balcony. To the left, there are five stone steps leading to a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, set within a prostyle porch supported by narrow columns. Nos 162 to 168 (even) are recognized as a group.
