Description

This is a row of four early to mid-19th century houses, numbered 4 to 18, located on Dericote Street. The houses are linked in pairs, each being two storeys high with a basement, and featuring one window in the main block and one in a recessed entrance link. The walls are built of stock brick, with some rebuilding at the upper levels. The roofs are slate-covered, with a pediment-like gable at the road end. The windows are replacements, mostly sash windows with glazing bars, set in stucco reveals with rounded heads within round arched recesses. Some recesses are stuccoed, and found on the ground floor. The doors have mostly been modernised and are set within quarter-column jambs, with segmental fanlights above. The windows at number 14 have been blocked up. The houses contribute to the group value of the area.

Nos 4 to 18 (even) and 5 to 23 (odd) Dericote Street form a group with Nos 1 to 4 and Nos 6 to 15 Croston Street.
